Porcelain, glaze and Aluminium lustre
I work sculpturally with porcelain, creating pieces that are emotive and inspired by my experiences as a scuba diver
along with my interests in human beings and their emotions.
My sculptures are slip cast from pebbles.
These are selected according to their physical properties and the emotional response that they may bring.
Each sculpture is titled, planned and developed around a state of mind.
Hand built elements such as chairs and ladders represent the trace of human beings on an emotional journey.
I consider density and balance and manipulate or incise the clay to suggest a feeling.
The physical qualities of the porcelain represents the fragility of human beings whist the pure white element
gives the viewer a blank canvas for individuals to form opinions and responses in their own lives.
