About Chih-Ning Li:
Chih-Ning, Li, a skilled Florentine hand engraver and fine jewellery designer,
inspired by Renaissance.
Her innovative art work with different types of materials and skills,
is mainly based on her living experience in Europe and Asia.
Her art work has been exhibited in Italy, England and Taiwan.
My inspiration comes from the Renaissance,
based on my living experience in Florence.
The word Renaissance means “Revive”.
The concept of my creation is based on the idea of reviving jewellery being taken out from the box.
Therefore, I used precious wood as the base material with laser carving.
Then the top of the jewellery box is finished with metal inlay
using the traditional Italian hand engraving technique I leant from Florence.
My jewellery box collection demonstrates my ability to combine the classic Italian technique
and oriental sensibility.
I hope to use my creativity to give various materials another identity.
