" Sceilig Mhichil "
90 x 90 cm classic square
This silk scarf is inspired by Sceilig Mhichíl,
an island off the coast of Co. Kerry, a UNESCO World Heritage site,
a monastic site dating from the 6th century
and of course film location of Star Wars!
The design is inspired by a visit by Christine to the island by boat.
Using her fine art photography –the image of a stately puffin,
the gigantic splashes of the Atlantic ocean,
the textures of the flora of the island
and the majestic jagged edges of Sceilig Mhichíl
make for a unique design.
It is embellished with "Sceilig Mhichíl will make your heart sing!"
It is like nowhere else on earth.
The sound of the birds, the magic of nature and the whirring of wings near your face as you climb this majestic piece of history
and geology is an unforgettable experience.
The design is printed on 100% luxurious soft silk
and handcrafted by a state of the art facility near Lake Como in Italy,
an area renowned for the making of designer silk scarves.
" Guardian Angel of the Landscape "
90 x 90 cm classic square
From the "Out of Kerry" collection,
this striking silk scarf depicts an image of an angel singing
which is first screen printed by hand by Christine onto paper.
The design is finished digitally with paired hearts
with abstract imagery taken from the landscape.
It has a golden yellow border and the words
"Do what inspires you" embellished on it.
It is printed and hand crafted
at a state of the art facility near Lake Como in Italy.
" Heavenly Fuchsia Skies at the Gap of Dunloe by night "
64cm x 183cm
This design is inspired by Christine O’Donoghue de Vries’ watercolour painting of the Gap of Dunloe landscape Killarney, Co.
Kerry, Ireland against the backdrop of a fuchsia sky by night!
A mirror image is made and the design finished on the digital file
complete with the words "The Gap of Dunloe will inspire you" subtlety worked in.
Christine loves taking something from the everyday in the countryside like the iconic fuchsia
and capturing its beauty in a whole new light.
The scarf can be worn a number of different ways as a wrap around the shoulders or as a scarf around the neck
to show off the intense colours -electric blues and turquoise of the fuchsia.
It is printed and handcrafted at a state of the art facility near Lake Como in Italy.
